Deryn - A Living Wage Employer
Deryn Consulting Limited’s application for official accreditation has been approved by the Living Wage Foundation.
Deryn has joined the growing list of Welsh businesses and organisations, accredited as a Living Wage employer. The Living wage is an independent movement of businesses, organisations and people who believe a fair day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.
It is calculated annually on the basis of the basic cost of living by the Living Wage foundation and updated each November. It is currently £8.75 an hour except in London, where the much higher cost of living means of wage of £10.20 an hour is needed.
Both figures are more than the UK Government’s ‘national living wage’ - the national minimum wage level for over-25s.
Nerys Evans, Director at Deryn said:
“There is no place for low pay in the private or public sectors. It is a matter of basic fairness that people receive a wage which is enough to live on. Securing accreditation as an official Living Wage employer sends a clear message that we value our staff and hope that it will act as an example to other employers in Wales.”
